How it works

Seasonal businesses and always-on reception

Does it make sense to pay monthly for a seasonal business?

It depends on when your enquiries arrive, not when your revenue does. Most Mallorca businesses take bookings across the whole year and deliver them across five months, and the winter enquiry for an August week is worth exactly as much as a June one.

If your enquiries genuinely stop in winter, this is a weaker case. For villa rentals, hotels and charters, they do not — they just go unanswered.

What does it do in the quiet months?

Answers the enquiries your competitors are not. That is the entire argument. In January the office is quiet, the phone is not staffed, and a guest planning summer gets a reply from whoever is set up to give one.

It also keeps your published information current in one place. When rates or availability change for next season, you change them once rather than in five people's heads.

How does it handle the summer peak?

By not having a queue. The constraint in July is how many enquiries arrive at once, and an agent answers the fifth simultaneous one exactly as it answers the first.

What it cannot do is create availability. The useful measure in peak season is not calls answered but how many were converted or captured for a later date, which is what the monthly report shows.

Can we pause it out of season?

You can cancel with 30 days notice after the first 90 days and there is no exit fee, so pausing is possible. We would generally argue against it.

The months you would pause are the months the agent is doing work nobody else is doing. Turning it off in January saves a small monthly cost and gives up the enquiries that fill the season it is saving money for.
